Flat Roof Repair, 10 things You Did not know

1. 90% of Flat Roofs Have Hail Damage with coverage

In the world of roofing, most roofers roof but know very little about hail damage coverage, wind damage, or freeze damage, maybe 5% of the local companies have any idea.  Commercial flat roofers that know insurance are almost non-existent, so instead of saying I don't know, they simply give you a bid and you pay in full for you new roof. Get an experienced company to evaluate your roof before paying full price.

2. 90% of Insurance Adjusters have never been in construction or know flat roofing

With the high demands on insurance adjusters both carrier and independent personnel, they have heavy workloads and struggle daily just to get through their planned stops.  Most adjusters work with us to get an outstanding result, and are happy because we can write the the commercial estimates for them including all local provisions, building codes, and we are good at Xactimate.  The insurance has their software and that is what we use.

3. Flat Roofing is a Complex Reconstruction process, it takes time and partnerships with parties.

Most flat roof (EPDM, TPO, Mod Bitr, even Peel and Stick) projects are more than the materials simply replaced on the roof.  The reconstruction of the roofs and the reassemble of the parts of the roof are always a challenge.

  • Age - Most flat roofs are well before the Building Codes
  • Building Stability - many times older roofs are cambered into the block walls so removal of the roof can be complex and dangerous.
  • Toxic - Sometimes the roofs have dangerous insulation, or covering, or dangerous molds due to longterm moisture.
  • No drainage, or proper roofing materials used - even though your old roof was rolled roofing, your new roof must drain, and have the proper material for minimal slopes
  • No Fire Code, No Insulation - almost all roofing projects require the above.  That is why its important to get the insurance on board, these are costly items and must be installed and installed correctly

4. Increase your property value with a new roof and stop the leaks!

In almost every case, our customers have not only the satisfaction of a new roof, but also find that their property is now worth substantially more because of their amazing new roof.  So most have little to no out of pocket, and get a property increase as an added bonus.

5. Do it once, do it right! Its Your Roof...

commercial roofing Sioux Falls, including flat roof repair and replacement

Over the last years we have had the pleasure of removing new roofs just to replace them with correct roofs that work, stop leaks, and have correct appliances installed on the roofs.   This is done because most roofers bid work, then they encounter problems, they don't want to let customers know or create problems so they cover them us.  Usually in short order, the roof fails, and the roofer cannot resolve the issue, that is where we come in.  Don't pay for a roof twice, especially if the insurance is willing to pay for it.  We can help you get your funds, get coverage, and do it right the first time.  Last year we replaced 6 almost new roofs.
